Mayor Reed hangs giant banner of Delta Sky's Mayor Reed cover inside City Hall

If you didn't fly Delta Air Lines last month, you probably didn't pick up a copy of Delta Sky. And if you didn't check out the company's onboard monthly publication, then you likely missed Mayor Kasim Reed gracing its August cover.

But fear not, Atlanta. The mayor now has enormous banner of Delta Sky's cover proudly hanging inside City Hall's atrium.

I saw it yesterday morning when I was headed to Atlanta City Council's Zoning Committee meeting:

It's quite a massive banner! Granted, he's looking back at Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy throughout the article alongside other famous Atlantans, including former Mayor Shirley Franklin, former Atlanta Braves legend Hank Aaron, and others. But is blowing up that image really that necessary to, well, remind everyone that you were on the cover of an airline magazine?

While Reed yesterday attended the March on Washington commemoration in our nation's capital, City Hall was having its own bell ringing festivities. Thankfully, some shrewd individuals realized that the Reed banner should probably be taken down since it would've been the backdrop to City Hall's festivities. Council Candidate Torry Lewis yesterday afternoon tweeted a photo of the atrium sans banner:

We just hope he gives CL the same treatment if/when we decide to let him grace our front page down the road. Who wouldn't want to see a behemoth free alt-weekly plastered all over 55 Trinity Ave?
