For weeks, rumors have swirled that state Sen. Jason Carter, D-Decatur, has been “thinking about” a possible gubernatorial run in 2014.
Adding some fuel to the fire: There’s now an accompanying @GovernorCarter Twitter handle that political observers are vigilantly watching for signs of... anything.
No one has tweeted from the account. And there’s still no avatar. We’ve left Carter a voicemail to confirm its validity or just some cybersquatter. We’ll post an update once we know more.
UPDATE, 4:15 p.m.: From his @SenatorCarter Twitter account, Carter quips: “Nice one. Pretty sure you have to get elected before you get to use that twitter handle.”
Fair enough, Senator. He declined to offer an update on his gubernatorial aspirations for 2014.
