Stuart Horodner to leave Atlanta Contemporary Art Museum

Stuart Horodner

The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center announced via press release last night that artistic director Stuart Horodner will leave the institution in June to accept a position as museum director of the Art Museum of the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Horodner has been with ACAC since 2008 and, as Lilly Lampe noted in her feature looking the institution's fortieth anniversary, "In Horodner's seven years at the organization, ACAC has added several new programs to connect with the Atlanta audience, including panels focused on artists developing their careers, monthly portfolio reviews, and open studios. The Art Party, which was canceled years before Horodner came on board, was recently revived for October of [2013]."

Horodner's successor has not yet been named.
