One of the more bizarre gubernatorial campaign stunts you'll see is currently cruising around the Gold Dome.
A yellow school bus - or what looks like half school bus, half flat-bed truck - is circling around the Georgia Capitol with a handful of signs in support of Dalton Mayor David Pennington's gubernatorial campaign. For some odd reason, a giant silver knight wielding a sword is propped up on the back the vehicle because that just makes perfect sense.
Liz Flowers, executive director of the Georgia Senate Democratic Caucus, snapped a photo of the "steel gladiator" a few minutes ago (the AJC's got a wider shot of the bus too):
And now a steel gladiator drives by Cap compliments of David Pennington. This place is a carnival. #gapol pic.twitter.com/b7qQTTJuKx

A spokeperson for Pennington's campaign tells CL that the bizarre campaign stunt is "100% not approved/paid for/sanctioned" by the the Carpet Capital's mayor.
So who's behind the mobile ad? We're hearing Ray Boyd, a former GOP gubernatorial candidate from Madison County who ran against Gov. Nathan Deal in 2010, is the Pennington supporter who's likely funding the medieval bus ride. Carry on!
