First Slice 3/18/14: Whatever you do, don't ask U.S. Rep. Paul Broun about his publicly funded campaign coach!

U.S. Rep. Paul Broun, R-Athens, was, how do we say, none too pleased when WSB-TV reporter Justin Gray asked him about why he had paid more than $33,000 in public money for a campaign coach.

On a flight from Orlando to Atlanta on Sunday, a Delta Air Lines plane lost a panel of its wing, but managed to land safely. "The problems with the wing did not affect the plane's ability to fly or operable change in flight," a company spokeswoman told CNN.

R.I.P., DeKalb County's cityhood scuffle. Perhaps we'll meet again during the 2015 legislative session?

Many of Georgia's Congressman vowed to donate their paychecks to charity - or refused their pay outright - when the U.S. government closed its doors for business last fall. So which ones actually followed through with that promise? Nearly all of them, except for U.S. Rep. David Scott, who claims he actually ended up working during that period of time.

ICYMI: Mayor Kasim Reed was given permission to pursue an Underground Atlanta deal that could cost the city $8.8 million, thanks to the Atlanta City Council.
