Investigators say that Shirley Dermond, whose body was found in Lake Oconee on Friday, died of blunt force trauma. Dermond was missing after her husband was found decapitated in their gated community home. Law enforcement authorities are still searching for his head and a motive for the killings. They’re beginning to settle on some theories of how the crimes took place.

Decaturish’s Dan Whisenhunt says he’s had some difficulty receiving any comment from Avondale Estates officials, including its communications manager.
