First Slice 6/15/14: Police wonder what to do about repeat offenders

Atlanta Police Chief George Turner says just under 500 repeat offenders in Atlanta have been arrested thousands of times. The ne'er-do-wells, he claims, aren't receiving stiff sentences.

Former Congressman Bob Barr and former State Sen. Barry Loudermilk, R-Cassville, tried to out-conservative each other last night in a debate at Kennesaw State University. The two are competing for an open seat in the U.S. House of Representatives that will be decided in July.

The city wants proposals for a "catalytic" development near the site of the proposed Atlanta Falcons stadium. Who wants to bet a developer pitches a plan for these properties?

Sorry, taxi cab companies. UberX just dropped its prices in Atlanta.
