ATLwood: 'Midnight Rider' filmmakers indicted for manslaughter

Posted By on Thu, Jul 3, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Filming Updates:
>> The Walking Dead continues its ITP stretch, filming around downtown and at the Hurt building. Filming continues on Edgewood by Grady through Tuesday. Things look ... rough.

>> Insurgent filmed at the state archives building. (Yes, they also shot zip-lining scenes.) Keep scrolling for some casting news.

>> The Duff reportedly filmed in the Kirkwood neighborhood.

>> "Survivor's Remorse" filmed on Windsor Parkway earlier this week.

Sightings:
>> Last Friday, Aaron Paul was spotted at Big Sky in Buckhead.

Castings:
>> Triple Nine needs tattooed police or police-seeming persons ("ideally flame of some sort"). Email name/photos/info to triplenineextras@gmail.com..

>> Insurgent needs "THIN!" and "FIT!" Caucasian women. You must also be blonde. You must also either be 5’3 and 105-110 or 5’8 and 112. Send three photos plus name/weight/height/contact info to CLCStandIns@Gmail.com.

Deals:
>> Tyler Perry would like to buy more than 300 acres of former Fort McPherson land for $33 million, please.

>> Fast & Furious 7 has a new release date next year: April 3, 2015.

Miscellany:
>> Randall Miller, Jody Savin and Jay Sedrish — respectively, the director and producers of Gregg Allman biopic Midnight Rider — have been indicted for involuntary manslaughter and criminal trespass following the death of crew member Sarah Jones earlier this year. Jones' parents filed a wrongful death suit in May, naming many of the film's creative and financial backers. In part it reads, "While the Midnight Rider defendants knew that they did not have permission or approval from CSX to film on the railroad tracks, they concealed this fact from the rest of the Midnight Rider cast and crew, including Sarah."

>> Actress Hailee Steinfeld says Atlanta is "one of my favorite cities ever."

>> Clint Eastwood's Jersey Boys was not seen or well liked by many people, but it does feature 11-year-old Rome native Elizabeth Hunter, who was hand-picked by Eastwood to play Frankie Valli's daughter.

>> Here's a trailer for locally filmed Susan Sarandon-starrer The Last of Robin Hood, due out the end of August.

>> FYI: This year's So You Think You Can Dance top 20 has one local connection: Kennesaw's Zack Everhart.
