First Slice 7/13/14: CDC calls time-out on some anthrax labs

Why We Can't Have Nice Things, no. 2,594: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has temporarily closed labs where more than 60 researchers might have been exposed to anthrax. In addition, the federal agency has stopped shipments of some infectious samples from its high-security labs.

Police are investigating a shooting at a southeast Atlanta music studio that left one man dead. The victim's sister told WSB-TV she first learned about his death on Instagram.
