One of CLs extremely prestigious awards
Last weekend, several CL staffers drove up to Nashville for the 2014 Annual Association of Alternative Newsmedia convention. And we returned with not one, not two, but three awards!

CL's special nonviolence issue, which was guest edited by Congressman John Lewis, won first place in the Special Issue category for papers with a circulation of 50,000 and over. Art Director Wes Duvall and graphic design intern Laura Zerlin nabbed an award for best editorial layout for our Atlanta Craft Beer Crawl piece (circulation over 50,000). And yes, even your favorite bread-themed blog "Fresh Loaf" got some love as the best staff blog. (We might let some of you lovely commenters hold the oh-so-shiny medal, but only if Question Man asks nicely.)

In addition, Photo Editor Joeff Davis finished in second place for his photographic exploits (circulation over 50,000). And Senior Writer Rodney Carmichael received an honorable mention for his excellent story about the Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition in the economic inequality reporting category (circulation over 50,000).

Two of CL's sister publications also took home some accolades. The Nashville Scene also won three awards, while the Cincinnati CityBeat claimed one first-place prize. Congrats to all!
