Dad's Garage Theatre might've just found its new home. The church above is on Ezzard Street in Old Fourth Ward, about a mile or so from the 19-year-old improv institution's original Inman Park location. The nonprofit is under contract for the property, but is asking for the public's help in raising funds to actually close the deal, according to a recent press release.

Last week at the Dad's Garage and Friends celebrity event, artistic director Kevin Gillese announced the capital campaign. "Any bit you can give helps, but a lot of bits help even more," Gillese said, keeping it light, but reiterating the importance of the community's involvement and support.

It's not clear how much money needs to be raised to help Dad's Garage reach their goal of closing on the space by the end of the year. According to the folks over at WABE, the listing price for the church is just over $2 million. More details on the campaign are forthcoming, but in the meantime folks can donate online. For now, Dad's Garage is still making a temporary home out of 7 Stages in Little Five Points.
