Deal to Carter: 'Don't try to convince all of us that you're one of us' Georgians

"[Jason Carter] wants us to believe that he is a many-generational Georgian, but the first time we can determine that he ever went to school in the state of Georgia was when he went to the University of Georgia law school. He grew up in the suburbs, the wealthy suburbs, I might add, of Chicago. He graduated from high school there. He went to college in North Carolina — great school, Duke, I have nothing against that. But don't try to convince all of us that you're one of us. He's been one of us for a very short period of time. He's been in this General Assembly for only two two-year terms. He's trying to make a step here and he's calling in all of the bigwigs, all the political machinery of the National Democrat party and all of the friends of his grandfather."

In his hour-long interview with Erick Erickson, Gov. Nathan Deal takes a jab at Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jason Carter's claims that he is a ninth-generation Georgian. (via WSB Radio)
