First Slice 7/21/14: Bike lanes on Peachtree in Buckhead? Think again.

Some Buckhead business leaders and residents are none too pleased about plans for a road diet and adding bike lanes to some busy streets, including Peachtree Road. “From the Buckhead CID’s perspective, our first and foremost priority is addressing existing and future automobile traffic,” Buckhead CID Chairman David Allman says.

Marietta Mayor Steve "Thunder" Tumlin wants the city to embark on a multi-year study of the city's historic square that includes wider sidewalks and installing parking meters.

Georgia School Superintendent John Barge, speaking to educators from across the state at a conference, responded to some claims made by the men and women vying to replace him. Barge is leaving the office in January after a failed bid to run for governor.
