First Slice 7/29/14: R.I.P., Friendship Baptist Church

Friendship Baptist Church, an iconic 152-year-old church located in Castleberry Hill, was demolished yesterday to make way for the new Atlanta Falcons stadium. “It’s a very sad day. There were many people who were raised in this church, baptized,” interim pastor Emmanuel McCall told WSB-TV.

A handful of MARTA bus and train operators may be planning a "massive sick out" next week in response to stalled negotiations, according to a WABE report.

The Wall Street Journal has taken a close look at how college radio stations like WRAS 88.5 FM, which flipped formats following an agreement between Georgia State University and Georgia Public Broadcasting, are moving away from independent programming.
