First Slice 5-27-15: Beltline budget set to increase, APS payments remain unresolved

The Atlanta Beltline owes Atlanta Public Schools $13.5 million in payments. Invest Atlanta has tentatively increased the Beltline’s budget by $13.1 million. None of that extra cash is currently set aside for APS. But at least they’ve acknowledged the debt with an placeholder line item on the budget!

The U.S. Supreme Court plans to hear the appeal of Georgia death-row inmate Timothy Foster. His lawyers will argue that prosecutors unfairly excluded black jurors in his trial.
