The Supreme Court yesterday ruled to keep President Obama’s Affordable Care Act alive, providing tax subsidies to eligible Americans, including more than 400,000 Georgians. Politicians across the state had predictable reactions to the decision, detractors calling it a “loss for everyone who cares about the Constitution” and supporters a “great victory.” Now about that Medicaid expansion...

Environmental advocates worry that the Chattahoochee River could soon be in danger of increased pollution. If the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) removes a minimum-flow target from its water regulations, the river might not carry enough water to dilute waste discharges, say concerned citizens. EPD says the requirement is merely an “asterisk” that won’t affect the river’s health.

Attention, preservationists! East Point’s civic block is one of the country’s most endangered places, according to the National Trust for Historic Preservation. They say buildings such as the auditorium, library, and city hall are “suffering a potential fate of demolition by neglect.”
