Letters Festival announces 2015 presenting authors

Lostintheletters annual event is going down Nov. 12-14

The folks over at Lostintheletters have been keeping busy. The local literary organization announced the dates for the third annual scribe festivus known as the Letters Festival, and launched a new website. From Fri., Nov 12 through Sun., Nov 14, the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center will play host to indie lit events featuring writers from around the country.
?
?This year’s first wave of presenting authors include locals Kalpana Narayanan, Daniel Bailey (Athens), Nikki Igbo, Marcela Fuentes, along with Khadijah Queen (Denver), Nick Sturm (Tallahassee), Jac Jemc (Chicago), Amelia Gray (Los Angeles) Janaka Stuckey (Somerville, Mass) Dorthea Laskey (New York), and Laura Theobald (Baton Rogue). More names will be announced in the months leading up to the Letters Festival. What we do know is that there will be nightly readings, craft workshops, dialogues, and free access to the Book Market, a curated collection of presses and literary journals.
?
?”We feel the Letters Festival is an important event for the Atlanta community,” says Director and Founder Scott Daughtridge, who along with Co-Founder Stephanie Dowda, and Author Curator Kory Oliver is organizing the festival. “We have carefully selected each participating author and we are excited that the Atlanta community can interact with the authors in a number of ways, through the readings, workshops and panel discussions.”
?
?The workshops, panel discussions, and talks will be free to folks that RSVP online, when the list opens in October. Though live readings are ticketed, they’re free to high school and college students with valid ID. For everyone else, ticket info, schedules, and all other pertinent details are forthcoming.
