I took this photograph last weekend at the Neighborhood Awards at the Georgia World Congress Center. Sanaa Lathan and Michael Ealy had just entered the stage for an autograph session and the crowd erupted. I happened to be onstage at that moment and captured this photo from Lathan and Ealy’s perspective.

While photographing them and other well known people over the weekend, I caught a brief glimpse of the life of a celebrity and how people react to you in public. Watching people surge at them with cell phones and endlessly request pictures and autographs did not seem like it would be so much fun. This photograph tries to capture the energy from the perspective of the person on stage.
