Yesterday, Creative Loafing released our twelfth annual Fiction Contest issue and, to celebrate, we threw a party at the Highland Inn Ballroom. Alongside readings from the winning authors, Abigail Greenbaum, Josh Green, and Myke Johns, we brought in Write Club to host two literary battles and the local duo Sans Abri to play tunes. Dustin Chambers was on the scene to take photos and put together a slideshow of scenes from the night.
Today, I spoke with WABE's Kate Sweeney about Abigail Greenbaum's first place story, "In Case of Emergency, Good Luck." The radio segment includes an excerpt of Greenbaum reading her story at the party last night.
