"Gated communities will become their own voting precincts"....meaning they will not even have to leave their gated communities to cast a ballot! Why not just let each gated community elect its own governor, senator representative, etc. all of whom can stay behind their gated walls indefinitely. The rest of us might actually prefer that.

While watching the largest cheating scandal in US educational history blow up, a scandal largely brought about by administrative retaliation against those who dared to expose it, no one in the legislature thinks the education of children is worthy enough of giving teachers whistle blower protection so they can speak out cheating and other issues?
Did not a decade's worth of academic genocide in APS teach them anything?

As a liberal Democrat living in this ruby red state of insanity, I feel disenfranchised. I have to keep telling myself that the pendulum has swung so far to the right that it has to start swinging back to sanity. The only way these clowns (sorry, clowns!) could be reelected is because their constituents are not paying attention. For democracy (small "d") to work, the voters must be informed, must get involved and must VOTE.

...Yeah, they definitely know. Heck, they expect it out that way as Ehrhart's house district (the predominantly-white and highly-conservative north end of Powder Springs/West Cobb) is a very-conservative area that is dominated by right-of-center and far right-of-center affluent voters who would be the most likely to benefit from being able to get a big tax writeoff for sending their kids to private christian schools.
Because of how politically-conservative that area is, Ehrhart's private school funding setup is actually very-popular amongst his constituents.
You gotta keep-in-mind that Cobb County has traditionally been (and pretty much still is, for the time-being) one of the most politically-ultraconservative suburban counties in the nation ("The Center of the Republican/Conservative Universe" as the county has been called).
You've also got to remember that Cobb County severely hurt its image with both the national and international community 20 years ago with an controversial anti-gay resolution 20 years ago that cost it some plum Olympic events and good publicity (most notably the passing through of the Olympic torch and olympic volleyball tournament) so any government action that funds or encourages anti-gay christian activities is par for the course in Cobb County.

You should know by now that these idiots (the ones in the Georgia General Assembly) don't care one iota about whether or not the bills they push forward and pass are constitutional or spark a litany of budget-busting lawsuits so long as it boost their chances of getting re-elected in a wingnut-dominated primary through the roof.
Also, statistically at one time there was more (way more) than one Georgia Democrat out there who did something unseemly as most of these sociopathic Dixiecrat Republican clowns who now dominate state government used to be Democrats when it was still popular for state politicians to have a (D) in front of their names and would likely again jump back across to the other side without if it meant keeping access to their lobbyist-funded five-star meals, lodgings and high-end escorts.
