"Among the nation’s 25 largest cities, Atlanta has the least amount of land dedicated to parks."
Hmmm...Ted Turner might have a point here....
More public sports fields would be a nice addition, esp ones that folks felt secure in using
I could seriously live on their deviled eggs fried green tomatoes.
Lucy is the person quoted as saying we don't drive because we're lazy.
Lucy is the commenter in the piece on cul-de-sacs. Dunno that she deserves all of the blame for Atlanta's sprawl though.
Ahh. I suppose reading the linked articles helps.
The Rockspinner should be moved to a less prominent intersection. It's not very appealing to look at and not even close to being a good artistic fit for 10th and Peachtree. I'm sure is was pretty cheap though...considering it is just a boulder.
Who is Lucy? (Other than my oldest dog, but I'm pretty sure ALL CAPS commenter above isn't referring to her...)
Always great to see new concepts in Atlanta, especially the pay-an-arm-and-a-leg-for-finger-food-and-overrated-cocktails variety.
Is this some sort of joke?
"The city has purchased four streetcars, but current plans call for operating only two of them during service hours, with expected wait times between vehicles of 15 minutes."
sure, spend $100 million on the streetcar, then leave 2 of the 4 the cars parked.
Come to Atlanta TWC. As for Cobb, so begins the 1st Annual Cobb County Hunger Games. May the taxpayers money be in your(or Tim Lee's) favor.
dotties > lennys > new lennys on dekalb ave > abandoned building > new apartment complex
This article about TWC's threats to move is far better than that HuffPo/AP piece of crap (with the inexplicable Al Roker picture) you linked to above: http://mdjonline.com/view/full_story_no/24…
Maybe TWC should move to in-town Atlanta - I hear there's a large piece of real estate that should be available in the coming years...
Hope the Cobb County Commission enjoys the coming parade of companies showing up with outstretched hands, demanding their slice of corporate welfare.
Much respect to Teamrollers who all influenced me heavy chevy and Second Sight Crew for taking over tuesdays and allowing hip hop heads and EDM heads to unite under one roof.. Had some of the best times of my life there...
RIP JAX of Binkis Recs who rapped his last line and breathed his last breath on that stage at the new Lennys after years of beating up stages at the old Dotties.. BINKIS RECS JFK JAX FOREVER KING
different city parks do different things, I think keeping the fulton county diamond, or the ted diamond, or the full field, as a green space of some kind would be cool.
"The Coming Medicaid Cost Explosion"
Right has been running around like Chicken Little for the past few years saying Social Security, Medicare, and now Medicaid will "explode." But nary a word about the Pentagon budget. It is funny how big government projects like the Cobb Stadium only get the Right's approval when it helps Big Business.
QM, you have commandment 5 wrong. It should read:
Thou shalt not kill except it be in pursuit of thy Second Amendment rights, which are never to be questioned
