I love this bar!
ordered a tuna melt, which arrived on store brought loaf bread, barely toasted and soggy with ORANGE AMERICAN CHEESE SLICES melted on top.
This is one of the best Christmas craft shows of the season. It is well run and the crafters are great.

best venue ever
MJQ is the best hands down. You want a club to take people and have an awesome time, this is the place. Wed night is free night which is awesome and friday night is old school hip hop. You will get to see actual break dancers here. This club has it all. Hipsters, Trappers, Hippies, Models, and Nerds all under one roof. One of the best clubs in Atlanta.
We have to admit, we were a bit apprehensive in going here, as it was a weekday around dinner time, and there weren't a whole bunch of people there, but it was the only place around, and we heard good things about it. We were pleasantly suprised with our food and service. We ordered (at the large man working behind the bars recommendation) The ribs and beef brisket. Both were smoked perfectly, ribs were fall off the bone, but not overcooked, the brisket was unbelievably good, didn't realize anyone outside of Texas did Brisket this well. The sauce selection was limited, with a sweet, spicy and carolina mustard version, all of which were excellent. Price was also a great surprise, with a full rack of ribs (spare ribs) was only $18.50 and they were very large, enough to feed 2 people easily. We have been back a few times since the initial visit, and each time has been excellent. We made the mistake or trying to go not knowing it was a Braves home game, and they were packed, and we didn't feel like fighting the crowds, but we will be back again. Worth the trip, little hard to get to, located right next to Turner Field, with nothing else around them. Make plans to visit this hidden gem...
Never been to Matilda's, but looking forward to our 1st visit on Oct. 20th to see/listen to "Driving to Denver". Friend's have told us about Matilda's and the band, and sounds like an outstanding night for us. I advise after the show.
I was surprised to see a Restaurant in Town Sembler, not far from me win Creative Loafing's best under the radar award. True there are some good restaurants in Brookhaven on Dresden and in this Sembler development.
The location of There is also different since it sits across the street from the Costco. And its almost a 2 worlds collide situation since the otherwise decent pedestrian amenities are seemingly walled off from the Costco - the sidewalks don't even turn into the LARGE Costco/Marshalls parking lot.
But no matter, There is in the ground floor of a residential mid rise and connected by nice sidewalks to the rest of the pedestrian oriented Town Brookhaven development. The dining area is good, its not a big place and it is casual and comfortable.
But more importantly as stated above, the menu is great. I've eaten there twice and the cook has come out both times. The Oysters as an appetizer were great, as were the string beans as a side. I also really liked the Ahi Sandwich. I have not tried the Bison Burger yet. The grass fed burger is great especially if you get it with Blue Cheese as their Blue Cheese is Maytag Blue Cheese and the taste of the grass fed burger with the tastier Maytag Blue Cheese is great. The guacamole dip is also very tasty. I've tried the Skirt Stake and liked it but not as much as the Burger or the Mahi Sandwich.
Great band on Friday nights
I'm exicted to learn about the future-proof technology of Unified Communications!
Good food with lots of flavor, but can be a little greasy. I mean greasy with chili oil like Sichuan food is supposed to be.
Chef Montobbio is at Restaurant Firenze. Chef Paolo Tondo is at Taverna Fiorentina.
Its good to be #1

Let me premise this post by saying I like Grindhouse's burgers. Next, I will say my first experience with Grindhouse was a wonderful experience. I went to the Edgewood/Sweet Auburn location. The service was great, actually the best. The guys behind the counter were super nice and truly went above and beyond as far as customer service goes. This post, however, is regarding the Piedmont location.
This is how my experience went. (Sept 1, 2012 9pm). We decided to order take out from the Piedmont location. After trying to call the store for ten minutes and getting a busy signal, we decided to drive to the store and just order at the counter. When we arrived, it wasn't that busy. There was a small line and by the time we got to the counter, there was nobody behind us. I told the counter girl the problems we had on the phone, and she shrugged it off. Ok, no big deal. Then, perhaps this was my downfall. We were ordering 2 combo meals, and I wanted to see if we could replace 2 of our drinks for 1 milkshake. Only after the counter girl rolled her eyes, did we get our answer. No. Ok, no problem. Maybe she thought I was being difficult? So, I tried not to show how much her attitude was bothering me. But then every response after was curt and rude. When I didn't see where the drink lids were, she spoke to me from behind the counter as if I was a child. "To the right, to the right, further, further." I honestly wanted to ask what her problem was at this point, but I was afraid I might get my food spit in. After being handed a table ticket and told to sit anywhere, I confirmed that we wanted our food to go, she responded "yeah, I know." She might as well have said "Duh, I got that." I thought maybe I was crazy, but my boyfriend was similarly appalled at how I was treated. We decided not to say anything and just get our food and go. At this point, we really regretted handing our money over.
Having worked in customer service, myself, I can say without a doubt that this was the most terrible customer service I've ever had. Perhaps Grindhouse should reconsider who they have as the face and first impression of their company. While I will not stop patronizing Grindhouse Burger, I will NEVER EVER return to this location. I'll stick to the Sweet Auburn location.
This boutique is the best the staff is great and welcoming
