Re: “First Look: Craft Izakaya

Here we go, another Atlanta chef stealing Palestinian food and repurposing it for a different culture! Shame on Creative Loafing and Chef Oh.

Re: “First Look: Craft Izakaya

"It's not on the menu but chef Oh makes a V8-like hearty uni shot. You read correctly. Uni shot: a glass with Sriracha, ponzu sauce, house-cured salmon roe, a quail egg, and uni draped into the savory and spicy liquid."

Is it uni (sea urchin nads) or salmon roe (ikura) in the shot?

Re: “Q&A with chef Todd Ginsberg

Wesleywhatwhat, brad kaplan,

Ginsberg is absolutely branding his food as Israeli.

"I didn't have the soul and the heart yet, understanding what modern Israeli cuisine was. Sure, I've read every single book from [Israeli restaurateur and cookbook author [Yotam] Ottolenghi, I was familiar with [Israeli restaurant] Zahav in Philadelphia, and there's a film called The Search for Israeli Cuisine that was another catalyst for me realizing I didn't yet know enough."

And it is so disheartening.

Re: “The organized chaos of Your DeKalb Farmers Market

I go to BHFM also to get a ingredients for various int'l recipes and for eastern European products. But I would not buy any meat there - no way. The YDFM clearly labels its meats/poultry, it looks clean, no doubt of what you are getting. Also YDFM baked goods are superior to BHFM.

Re: “Q&A with chef Todd Ginsberg

Fortunately America gives everyone choice. Jerusalem bakery (both locations in the Atlanta area) are owned and run by Palestinians. Most mediocre Palestinian food I've ever had (compared to NYC and Miami (yes there are Palestinians/Greater Syria immigrants that landed in hispanic countries & made it to the US).

Re: “Q&A with chef Todd Ginsberg

Dear Todd: As you see your sandwiches have caused a terrible war of words to errupt behind the keyboards of the Palestinian community, each and every person commenting should be considered dangerous Yelpers waiting to wage a one star Jihad against your new venture. I suggest you change the name of your place to.....

"Sorry but this food is not Palestinian! The Shawarma and the Shakshuka come with the Ottomans!!!"

Which also make a nice comfortable addition to any plush armchair.

Re: “Q&A with chef Todd Ginsberg

I think those who will boycott this business should do so, it would certainly make the place safer, there is nothing I fear more than a man who has spent the wee hours of the morning praying and then strapping a bunch of Russian Dressing and Pita to his body before blowing himself up during the lunch rush! Talk about of gooey mess!

Re: “Q&A with chef Todd Ginsberg

MBC- "like burning down someone's house but then enjoying their awesome record collection".

If said house was burnt down, more than likely the records which are made of vynil would melt and thus not be playable. Logic, try it soon...

Re: “Q&A with chef Todd Ginsberg

I think the palestininas should commence immediate launch of torpedo sandwiches on the region, followed by the constructuion of sanwich stands on the left bank, this could be followed by a pastrami on rye bombardement by Israel in retaliation for the bread and mayo shortage that will follow such a bold move.

Re: “Q&A with chef Todd Ginsberg

When you use the term Zionist in your comment, it essentially negates any claim you might have had regarding the high ground.
