The Star Bar's annual JOHNNY CASH TRIBUTE AND DIABETES BENEFIT returns for one more round of local yokels performing their favorite and most revered songs penned by the original man in black. The musicians offer a comprehensive set that covers Cash's catalog. Wicca organization Ravenwood Church and Seminary, Phoenix & Dragon Bookstore and 5 Seasons Brewing invite kindred spirits to WITCHES BREWFEST to enjoy devilishly delicious brews. The Ravenwood witches will conjure up a special brew and celebrate the night with music, a costume contest, and prizes and raffles for a wicked good time with those who know Halloween best. Grab a flashlight and some walking shoes for Oakland Cemetery's 2008 HALLOWEEN TOURS. As the sun sets on an October night, such famous Oakland "residents" as world-renowned golfer Bobby Jones will narrate your journey through Atlanta history. A whimsical, spooky history lesson coupled with the majestic aesthetics of Oakland Cemetery make for a charming precursor to Halloween. Costumes are encouraged! DJs Vikki V and Suzy Q raise the Halloween spirit with FRINGE FACTORY EXPLODES THE PLASTIC INEVITABLE. It's a costume party and tribute to Andy Warhol's Factory and the pre-Velvet Underground Exploding Plastic Inevitable atmosphere of art, lights and sound. Come dressed as your favorite Warhol superstar or '60s rock icon and zone out to the psychedelic sights. Eight bands will perform at the BOBBY UBANGI BENEFIT at Blind Willie's this weekend, where all proceeds from the donations, raffle and silent auction will benefit the medical expenses of local musician B Jay Womack (singer and guitarist for local bands the Lids and Bobby and the Soft Spots). Womack was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and Atlantans have come together in a big way to show their support. Bands include Rocksploitation, Deering and Down, and Chickens and Pigs.
