Drink up!

After a long day of listening to negative ads and looking at ugly candidates' yard signs, my throat gets all parched up from politicians' platitudes. And my mind thirsts for something more substantial. That's when it's time to pop open a can and drink down some of them ice-cold ...

Ah, that's refreshing! Just in time for the July 18 primary. Guzzle these wise words. Then, get out there and vote!

Vote July 18

Democrats take on Democrats and Republicans take on Republicans in the upcoming July 18 primaries. The winners face off against each other, as well as candidates from the smaller parties, in the Nov. 7 general election. But, practically speaking, most congressional and legislative races will be decided in the July 18 primaries because most districts are drawn to favor one party or another.

These endorsements were prepared by a Creative Loafing committee consisting of Alyssa Abkowitz, Ken Edelstein, Scott Henry, John Sugg and Coley Ward, with occasional input from other editorial staff members. Staff members were assigned to research specific races and candidates. As part of the process, we hosted debates in many of the races; you can listen to those debates online at
