Open five days a week for lunch and every night for dinner, Altobeli's Italian Restaurant and Piano Bar serves up made-from-scratch Italian cuisine to tempt and titillate the palates of its enthusiastic patrons. The menu offers a variety of appetizer selections which include tender fried calamari, fresh sliced roma tomoatoes teamed with mozzarella, basil and olive oil, not to mention our succulent escargot baked with garlic butter and wine. And whether you prefer veal, chicken, beef, pasta or seafood, there are enough entree choices to ensure there's something for everyone from steak lovers to vegetarians. For music enthusiasts, Atlanta's own Randy Barnes entertains every Friday and Saturday night beginning at 7:30 p.m. with easy-listening classics followed by a variety of vocalists who perform everything from current Broadway hits to Garth Brooks. There is also a two-hour show each Thursday beginning at 8 p.m. featuring the talents of Kathe' Kelner and Adam Patterson. SO, if you're ready for a full night out or just a few cocktails and a song, we're waiting for you here at Altobeli's Restaurant and Piano Bar.

The setting here is so pleasant and the quality of the olive oil, olives and cheese so fine that one could sit with these and nothing more -- well, maybe a glass of red wine -- and be content. Traditional Italian family favorites served as though patrons were guests in the home.

A Buckhead port-of-call worth the modestly priced ticket, this younger sister to popular Toulouse is notable for seafood, unusually astute wine-advice and a soft-focus attitude that belies the care lavished on favored customers. The Mediterranean and American cooking has its ups (steamed mussels with lemon grass, steak with mac-and-Asiago) and downs (entree pastas, veal). Reservations honored.
