Manuel's Tavern

Tools

Poncey-Highland institution is a home away from home to the politicians, artists, and madmen it's drawn as clientele for decades. Full menu includes a variety of good burgers and organic eggs fresh from its rooftop coop. A renovation of the building and a refurbishment of the tavern is coming in 2016.
Fellini's Pizza - Poncey-Highland

Tools

The cheerfully scruffy pizza chain is named for the fanciful filmmaker, and the tattoos and piercings of the servers can definitely be Fellini-esque. The thick, hearty pies easily surpass any of the national chains' and their simple salads hit the spot, but the white pizza is in a class by itself, with one bite transporting you to cheese and garlic heaven.
La Fonda Latina - Poncey-Highland

Tools

Casual Latin American restaurant with cheap eats and fresh ingredients. Rooftop patio.
Majestic Diner

Tools

For all the debauchery and bleary-eyed clubbing that ordering a plate of hash browns at 4 a.m. entails, this is the only place to go. Delightfully greasy burgers, eggs, grits, and other diner favorites stave off oncoming hangovers and settle woozy, boozy tummies. Stone-cold sober? This Atlanta institution can provide all the inspiration you need to write that picaresque novel.
Soul Vegetarian Restaurant No. 2

Tools

One of the restaurants owned by the Kingdom Enterprises, a business run by African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem. Offers both vegetable-laden salads as well as plenty of faux meat dishes such as tofu-based barbecue and the specialty roasted gluten loaf called the Kalebone.
