Beloved family-style Italian restaurant.

Osteria Mattone is an Italian restaurant in downtown Roswell from the minds behind Table & Main. The menu features regional Italian fare influenced by travels to Rome, New York, and Naples, comprising pastas with ingredients such as oxtail, pecorino, and pancetta, as well as "traditional Roman dishes" such as antipasti with Italian speck and prosciutto, or fried risotto with tomato and mozzarella. A substantial wine list by sommelier Daniel Pernice rounds out Osteria's offerings with a collection of mostly Italian varietals.

The setting here is so pleasant and the quality of the olive oil, olives and cheese so fine that one could sit with these and nothing more -- well, maybe a glass of red wine -- and be content. Traditional Italian family favorites served as though patrons were guests in the home.

Chef Mel Toledo and his wife Sandy are serving French and Italian dishes but with a southern twist in a casual and social setting where guest can enjoy cocktails, craft beers, and boutique wines.
