Stoudt's Double IPA

This bottle-conditioned monster pours a hazy orange with a thick, sticky head. Unlike some DIPAs, this one doesn't overwhelm with hops, but there's plenty of piney, grapefruity flavors to complement the rich, sweet malts. Honey, melon, and brandy-like grape coat the tongue, and the 10 percent alcohol comes through in the finish. Warming and refreshing at the same time with a luscious, creamy mouthfeel.

Stoudt's Double IPA, Stoudt's Brewing Company, Adamstown, Pa. 10% alcohol by volume. Available at Tower Wine & Spirits, 2161 Piedmont Road, and S & N Package Store, 2595A Lawrenceville Highway, Decatur.
