Music: Medications

Wed., March 25

It's been a minute since Washington, D.C., trio MEDICATIONS checked in with their 2005 debut, Your Favorite People All in One Place. Guitarist/vocalist Devin Ocampo (Faraquet, Smart Went Crazy), drummer Andrew Becker, and bassist Chad Molter (Faraquet) carry Dischord Records' post-hardcore legacy in a decidedly melodic direction. Their songs are full of jangling, '90s indie-rock sensibilities that branch out pretty far from the Dischord family tree. This time they're giving some new numbers a test run. Bearded and cross-dressed labelmate Edie Sedgwick plays songs from his/her latest release, Things Are Getting Sinister and Sinisterer. Local mainstay the Liverhearts also perform. $7. 9 p.m. 529, 529 Flat Shoals Ave. 404-228-6769. www.529atl.com.
