Opera: Il Trovatore

Friday, March 6

The Atlanta Opera hit a high note with its first performance of the year in the sold-out January production of Philip Glass' Akhnaten. IL TROVATORE, starring soprano Angela Brown and set to Giuseppe Verdi's most memorable melodies, combines passion, lust, jealousy, madness and murder in a four-act story about two brothers separated at birth who coincidentally end up fighting for the same woman's love. Through March 8. $27.50-$122.90. Fri., 8 p.m.; Sun., 3 p.m. Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway. 404-881-8885. www.atlantaopera.org.
