Rally for art

Hundreds of people marched through downtown Atlanta and rallied at the state Capitol April 19 to protest the potential elimination of the Georgia Council for the Arts. The spirited rally included dance performances, impromptu speeches and a reading of organizations that received grants from the council in 2009. The list included over 600 arts organizations in 140 counties. Hearings about the cuts continue today at the Capitol.
