What would Bjork eat?

Posted by Cliff Bostock on Wed, May 16, 2007 at 4:03 PM

So, I was driving around, listening to Bjork's latest, Volta, which has some really beautiful moments, including guest performances by the androgynous, angel-voiced Antony, among many others.

I was hungry. "What would Bjork eat?" I wondered.

I remembered what the singer won't eat in her native Iceland: "They pee on a shark and then dig it into the earth for a few months, then they get it out and the ammonia has preserved it. I'm more into the fresh stuff," she told a Brit magazine.

But then I remembered that Bjork made one of my fave food-related videos of all time, "Venus as a Boy." Check it out:

So, I went straight to the Silver Skillet for scrambled eggs and country ham.

somehow, i'd bet she only eats food that she foraged for herself on her 5,000 acre compound in malaysia. she would not eat such a breakfast as you describe because coincidentally an ancestor of hers was both a pig and an egg!
