Atlanta breweries need your help

Posted by Besha Rodell on Thu, Jun 14, 2007 at 4:35 PM

In last week's Beer Issue, I wrote about going to the tours of our local breweries to taste the beers straight from the source. But a proposed law in Georgia would make these tours impossible in their current form — the law would only allow 2-ounce tastings of each beer the brewery makes, with a maximum of 8 ounces. As it stands right now, Sweetwater and Atlanta Brewing Company allow a few glasses of beer per customer, and the brewery tours have become a way for them to foster a community with their patrons. They have both invested significant amounts of money to have tasting facilities on-site. Check out Sweetwater's website to find more info on the proposed law and what you can do to help stop it.
