Can anybody comment on the beer selection at Tap? I have seen a few varieties mentioned or pictured (Rogue Mocha Porter, Brooklyn Pale Ale, Guinness), but I was wondering if any beer aficionados think it is worth dressing up for and facing the see-and-beseen crowd that seems to invade every Bob Amick venture. Meridith Ford reviews the food in this week's Access Atlanta (http://www.accessatlanta.com/restaurants/content/restaurants/reviews/stories/2007/07/31/tap_0802.html?cxntnid=din080107e) and mentions thatthe "casks" are suspended in a glass vault over the bar, but Tap's website (http://www.tapat1180.com/home.php) shows that they are actually kegs, as opposed to casks, which would suggest cask conditioned real ale. They do say that they have one cask ale on tap, but it doesn't say what kind of beer is in the cask. Anybody got the early drop on this one?
Oh the scene of the moment with waiters that you have to feel sorry for because they haven't ever cooked or gone to a farmers market. Well that was our first experience at TAP, which can be the same at Trois. I have learned not to ask how things are prepared. So let me move on to the second time at TAP where our server was excellent - late Sunday lunch - and the food really good. The whole staff got into the ingredients of the Badminton Cup made with gin, sour mix, mint and mashed cucumber it is super! The gin is not infused with cucumber as we thought . Order the Cobb Salad or the three cheese grilled sandwich - you cannot go wrong. My friend Lynda says the fish over lentils was good all though I didn't see it on the menu.
