Piebar closed

Posted by Besha Rodell on Wed, Dec 12, 2007 at 8:20 PM

I've got to stop going out of town. Last time I left for a few days, Element had closed. This time, I came back to town last night to find that Piebar shut its doors over the weekend. Concentrics Restaurants, which owns the business, said it's hoping to have another concept open in the space by spring. I would imagine it's a bit of a blow for the restaurant group, which usually presides over resounding successes. I am glad it's planning to do something else with the space -- the building has always been cooler than the high-concept pizzas.

B- It was destined to bomb with their atrocious food, wannabe bigshot clientele, terrible service and poor food execution. Not a big loss, not even a small loss. The space is cursed and destined to fail no matter what goes in there.... bring back the bank.

That might explain why Bob Amick never pays his vendors on time. That might explain why many of his vendors must wait months for checks that were dated months earlier but never mailed. It also might explain why Concentrics has high turn over. Could it be all smoke and mirrors?

Well, his other restaurants seem to be ok. Hey, "vendors" are you getting paid or not?

Perhaps Concentrics should consider opening a restaurant instead of a concept. Believe me, it is easier to digest good food than a bad concept...conceptually speaking, of course.

Ginger Dama knows what she's talking about! We've had the same experience with his other restaurants.
