Like every other foodie in town, I rushed to Frank Ma's new restaurant last week. The legendary restaurateur whose original restaurant opened in Sandy Springs in the mid-'70s does not actually own this restaurant, Da San Yuan, but has agreed to manage it the next two years. His wife, Amy, was on hand Sunday night, too.

The restaurant is located in Chinatown Square (5389 New Peachtree Road, 770-234-4885). You won't see a sign. The sign of the former tenant, Din Ho, is still there.

We had a mainly exquisite meal. My favorite was the pork belly with leeks and jalapeno peppers pictured above. Next favorite was chives with bean curd (above, right). The latter had an amazingly floral taste that was cranked up with ginger.

We sampled a few other dishes, too, but you'll have to read about those in an upcoming Grazing column.
