Pass the chocolate chicken wings and shake your groove thing

It's not every day you get to eat with women line dancing around your table. But that's the situation we found ourselves in when we ate at Café Circa (464 Edgewood Ave., 404-477-0008) Sunday night. The new restaurant was hosting an event for Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. After a champagne toast, the ladies broke into dance.

We had a good meal, including this jerk chicken with a pineapple-mango salsa, served over yellow rice with a bowl of black beans.

Also notable was a plate of chocolate chicken wings. That's right, chicken wings fried Buffalo-style and rolled in dark chocolate syrup. They were messy as hell but surprisingly yummy.

This is a great addition to the Sweet Auburn area, near Edgewood's corner with Boulevard. It's a beautiful space with a 30-foot marble bar backed by golden-lit glass.

My date and I went for an early Sunday dinner after hearing about Cafe Circa from a friend. A great place. Service was excellent, attentive, but not overbearing. The atmosphere was great, and the food, SUPERB! A wonderful menu, many varied choices. Food was presented beautifully, like something in a magazine, and tasted just as good. I can personally vouch for the salmon in bourbon glaze sauce, and the jerk chicken salad with pineapple mango salsa. I'll definitely be back again and again. An excellent meal, at an excellent price. Please keep up the great work.
