One reason Café Circa is so cool

Well, no wonder Café Circa is so cool. I reviewed the restaurant this week and complimented both its ambiance and food. It turns out the consultants on the restaurant are two of our city's most innovative developers of neighborhood restaurants -- Todd Semrau and Ryan Aiken. Both were pioneers in the gentrification of East Atlanta Village with, respectively, the Heaping Bowl and Brew and Burrito Art.

Semrau consulted on the restaurant's front-of-the-house operation while Aiken consulted on the kitchen.

Semrau informs me that the kooky chocolate chicken wings are the invention of the restaurant's executive chef, William Linares. You can read about him here.

I love seeing the Sweet Auburn District turning into a home for independent, chef-driven restaurants like Café Circa, Dynamic Dish and the Corner Tavern.
