Too orange for Halloween

Danger! Danger! Very orange food! This is the fried pork with fresh pineapples and sweet-and-sour sauce at Top Spice Thai and Malaysian Cuisine. I lunched there a few days ago at their Toco Hills location with my friend Rose, who selected this dish ... and regretted it. It might make a good dessert, but it's way too sweet for an entree.

I, on the other hand, ordered the spicy beef rendang, a wonderful version — even if it was half the quantity of candied pork that Rose received.

There's plenty on the menu to enjoy here — particularly the Malaysian dishes — and lunch costs under $10, with rice and coconut-mushroom soup.
