Parish, the latest member of the Concentrics Restaurants group has opened at 240 N. Highland Ave. (404-681-4434). The New Orleans-style restaurant opens for dinner daily at 5 p.m. and also serves brunch 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There's also a to-go shop that opens at 7 a.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. weekends.. And there's Parish Market, open daily at 7 a.m. until restaurant closing.

Chef of the new restaurant is Timothy Magee, who has worked for Lobby at Twelve, another Concentrics restaurant, since 2006. He earlier worked for restaurants owned by Buckhead Life and The Fifth Group and has also worked for several well known New Orleans chefs.

Executive pastry chef is Jonathan St. Hilaire, a title he holds with other Concentrics restaurants. Now, though, he is expanding his repertoire to include organic breads, pastries and desserts at Parish Market.

You can check out the restaurant's menus on its website here.

I went here on Sunday at exactly 10am, before the mothers day rush. They seated us in the empty dining room- only one other table was seated right next to us. While the other table was being serviced, no one came to our table. As the restaurant started to fill up we finally flagged a server down who took our drink orders. we were then left to wait another 10 minutes until we flagged down another server, who said they would find our waitress. She finally arrived, after I notice that about 5 tables that arrived after us had already recieved drinks, food, and beignets. It took another 10 minutes to get our complimentary beignets. The food was good though, but when I asked for egg whites our server said that the chef could not do that. Funny, the crappy diner in my office building can do egg whites but a nice restaurant can't. Oh well, like I said the food was good but the service was awful. I would try it again though, since they did just open.
