Pie Bar replaced, Fuzzy's reincarnated

Posted by Cliff Bostock on Wed, Sep 10, 2008 at 4:12 AM

Eros World Tapas Bar (404-549-2433), will host an invitation-only preview party of its menu Wednesday night and open to the general public on Friday. This is in the ultra-cool building at 2160 Monroe Dr., which was renovated and opened as the short-lived Pie Bar by the Concentrics folks.

This new project is the work of George Karameros and Nikitas PanagoPoulous. Chef is Rafael Mendoza. A news release says this:

Eros World Tapas Bar is the creation of George Karameros and Nikitas PanagoPoulos, two world travelers who wanted to bring their experiences with international cuisine and entertainment to Atlanta. From Japanese sushi to Jamaican jerk chicken, and intercontinental dishes such as Madagascar shrimp, British fish and chips, Spanish paella, Mexican octopus ceviche, and other countries in between, Eros plays cupid to overs of culinary variety.

Small plates satisfy an appetite to sample everything, and prices between 4 and $9 extend the possibilities. Equally diverse is the wine and cocktail menu, delivering over 100 different options to sate any palate.

Eros isn’t only for satisfying worldly gastronomic interests. After 10 p.m. from Wednesday to Saturday, guest DJs open the dance floor of the

covered patio with music from across the globe.

Zuffy's Place, the sort-of-reincarnation of the defunct Fuzzy's Place, opened Monday night. You can go here to read Scott Freeman's story about the closing of the popular Fuzzy's after its owner of 30 years died last winter.

Zuffy's (404-321-6166) is located at 1860 Corporate Boulevard. It faces Buford Highway. (If you know where the Pink Pony is, look across the street.)

Like Fuzzy's, Zuffy's features a Cajun menu by Chef Joe Dale, along with countless live bands.
