I don't have the full story, but Gravity Pub in East Atlanta is facing extinction, so another pub there, the Graveyard Tavern, is sponsoring a benefit this evening to help save the popular spot.

The Big Wheel Bitches say:

The Graveyard Tavern is holdin' a benefit show this Thursday at 8 p.m. and it's $8 at the door. The Deadtowners, Death of Kings (formerly Das Manics), the Loose Screws and Bitch will be playing and Captain Stabtuggo will be there too to raffle stuff off!!

Y'all go.

Sorry, Kali. But at least Manuel's and Melton's are about as stable as Roseanne Barr at an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet. Tradition bites.

It only leaves me wondering what once-beloved watering hole will be next. I shudder.

Having worked at both trackside and gravity pub, I can only say this is apparently a bad time to be a former employer of mine. ( I wish all employees/proprieters of both establishments the best of luck. they did, after all, put up with me.) Meltons and Manuels? yeesh. Not anything like Trackside or Gravity Pub. Neither has the Hamdog, I mean Mulligan. Hell, Meltons doesnt even serve liquor!

So...has the Gravity officially closed? I was hoping to do an East Atlanta pub crawl sometime soon---a poignant, if sodden way to say goodbye to the city---and that was on the top of the list.
