Healthy food is just a click away

As if. Good Food Near You is a new website that "empowers consumers to incorporate healthy dining decisions into their everyday lifestyle," according to an email they sent me. Go ahead. Enter your zip code on the opening page and see what's healthy in your neighborhood.

This was my favorite suggestion: Piccadilly Healthiest Choice: Au Jus Within 1.9 miles | View Menu Fat 0g | Calories 6 | Carbs 1g I'm not sure I can make a meal out of just au jus, but I appreciate the suggestion.

Mmmm...can't wait to have a garden salad at McD's or a 99-calorie chicken filet (no bun or pickle) from CFA. I feel healthy already...no, wait, that's the feeling of starvation.

LOL Ehtrevor.. I had the piccadily au jus as well. I wonder if I can get that to go. Also I never knew that Krispy Kreme apparently has a whole wheat glazed donut rolling in at 180 cal. Love it.

I just did this as well and all my "healthy" choices were all chains. I live down the street from Soul Veg, so something sure ain't right.

Okay, to play devil's advocate, I suppose I could see some slight value in a service like this if I were on a road trip where I wanted to stop for a quick lunch and used my Internet-enabled wireless device to search for some reasonably healthy chain food choices among the places closest to my current location. Of course, most of us are already familiar with the chains' attempts at "healthy" menu items and don't need a service to remind us that McDonalds offers a grilled chicken sandwich. While the concept could be useful, this particularly crude implementation of it is indeed laughable.
