Brunch at Babette's

My friend Rose D'Agostino and I hit Babbette's Cafe in Poncey-Highland for brunch Sunday.

This restaurant's dining room remains one of the most hospitable in town and Chef Marla Adams' cooking is pure comfort. Rose ordered the oyster sandwich and I had eggs scrambled with feta and a side-order of cheese grits.

The restaurant offers a prix fixe menu Tuesdays through Thursdays and this week's includes the choice of paella. (Cost is not mentioned on the website, weirdly enough.) The hitch is that  you have to be seated by 6:15 p.m. People really eat that early?
