Tonight, beginning at 10 p.m., is piggy pie night at Varasano's. For $12.95, you get a slice of every pizza on the restaurant's menu. Your entire table must participate and -- here's the worst part -- the offer is only good for the first 20 people who get there. I'm sure you won't mind camping at the front door for a few hours with your iPod.
By the way, I notice that Tom Maicon of Atlanta Cuisine is troubled by the inconsistency he finds at the vaunted pizzeria. The very mixed reviews of the restaurant themselves bear witness to the inconsistency.
Tonight is also P'cheen's "Bone Lick BBQ" night. And $15 buys you all the mussels you can eat at the Peasant Bistro.

I really enjoy reading your articles. However, it seems like you are repeatedly against Varasano's. I've eaten there three times with my wife and had great pizza each time. My question is why are you forwarding negative reviews about a place and not the positive reviews?
The man does not cook his pizzas. The man that hired another man cooks his pizzas. The man has passion. Chooses to wear a suit and walk around the restaurant adjusting window blinds, than make my pie.
I really don't care who cooks Varasano's pizzas. And, I don't care if there is "passion" in the pizza or not. Personally, I prefer cheese. ;) My comment is that I have sampled 6 great pizzas there. (Wife and I ordered one each for the three times I've been there.) And, they were really good. In fact, they were great. Also, I've noticed some reviewers having a bias against Varasano's and I'm not sure why.
Mr. Bostock is just stating the humor that is included in the specials at Varsanos..."full table must order" "first 20" I didn't wait in line for my Playstation 3, but I will for the pizza haha
Huh? What did I say that was bad about Varasano's in this post? My last few mentions of it have been mainly positive. But here: Besha gave the pizzeria a good review, as did Christiane Lauterbach of Knife and Fork. If you mean that I shouldn't be reporting the controversy the place has provoked, sorry, not gonna stop.
Speaking of Monday night deals- TopFLR's 3 course $15 Prix Fixe on Mondays is perhaps the best deal in town right now.
I have to agree with Joe. Cliff has gone out of his way to mention the negativity. And, the positive mentions have always included some rather snide comments. It's clear that Cliff has some sort of personal ax to grind with Varasano. What's up, Cliff? Can't you keep your personal vendetta out of your writings?
Doesn't Cliff have the right to have a somewhat negative opinion of any given restaurant? Isn't that why we read his posts: to get his opinion of restaurants so we can avoid the not-as-greats, calibrated by how our experiences compare with his assessments? I think he's been pretty fair to Varasano's and the specifics he gives as to the negatives tend to be validated by other blogs that bring up the same drawbacks. It's interesting how loyal some people are to Varasano in the short time he's been in business.
