If you haven't tried Depth Charge Espresso Milk Stout, the latest joint project between Terrapin Beer Company and their friends at Left Hand Brewing in Longmont, Colorado, you might want to sign up for the upcoming collaboration dinner at The Porter Beer Bar on Tues., Nov. 3. Depth Charge has been moving well, thanks to positive online reviews, so it likely will be gone soon. The dinner will also feature the breweries' first collaboration, Terra-Rye'zd, a black rye lager.

The dinner includes 3 courses and 4 beers. The evening will kick off with the course spiciness of the rye in the Terra-Rye'zd paired with a caraway tempura shrimp and butternut squash puree (a change from an earlier announced menu item). Firm, swordfish-like sturgeon from the Columbia River will be wrapped in bacon and served with swiss chard and tomato jam for the second course, accompanied by Terrapin's Big Hoppy Monster. Dessert is a local pumpkin pie with white chocolate ganache and ginger ice cream, complemented with Left Hand's spiced ale, Juju Ginger. The Depth Charge closes the evening as a heady substitute for the traditional after-dinner coffee.

The dinner runs from 6-9 p.m. and costs $30 for the 3 courses, plus $10 for the beer pairings. Call the Porter at 404-223-0393 to reserve your spot.
