Grant Park gossip

Posted by Cliff Bostock on Tue, Nov 3, 2009 at 4:26 PM

The Twitterers are tweeting that Stella in Grant Park will close at the end of December and be replaced by Doc Chey's Noodle House. I'm not happy about that.

Not crying over Stella, it was only ok in my opinion, but am glad that Doc Chey's will be coming. Do you know anything about the place going into the old Zocalo spot? The Painted Table is it's name.

I quite like Stella and will miss it. Unfortunately for them, since I find no desire to visit the current, closer location of Doc Chey's, I definitely don't foresee many visits to the new one.

we got the email yesterday from Stella that said they were closing at the end of the year. I wrote them to express my sadness for the loss and they seemed to indicate they just did not have enough patrons...too bad. I drove past Little Azio and Grant Central on a regular basis to go to Stella, now I won't drive past Spoon to go to Doc Chey's. Bummer of a loss! We loved Stella.

I liked Stella, especially since it had fewer kids than Osteria 832. Not worth driving over and fighting for parking at Osteria and I was never a fan of Doc Chey's. Too bad.

BOO.... just what we need...another dumbed down Asian joint. We ate at Stella many times and never had a bad meal there. What's the problem?

Cliff, you are the BIGGEST douche bag in the Atlanta "journalism" community. Congrats! Keep up the great work! :)

Wow! Amberjack, you're jetting fiesty and making personal attacks towards a food writer? You must not have had your Big Montana from Arby's yet. You should get one. And a jammoca shake. It'll raise your blood sugar enough to calm you down from those pesky posts about restaurant happenings.
