You already know I'm addicted to the Shed at Glenwood's Wednesday night special of $3 sliders. A crispy pancetta one with slightly sweetened sheep's-milk ricotta was this week's standout.
Thursday night, I returned to try the restaurant's regular special of four vegetables for $10. You choose from among a dozen or so offerings. I ordered roasted sunchokes, sauteed brussel sprouts, organic local turnips and (in the background) fennel slaw. That's a lot of earthy flavors.
This is an easy way to go meatless one night a week, if you're so inclined. If you're not so inclined, read Jonathan Safran Foer's new Eating Animals and you'll feel immediately so inclined. (I'll be posting my reactions to Foer's book over the next week or two.)
