Can you dance with a wine glass on your head?

I received this email today and would appreciate any advice you could give the writer:

I am in the midst of a couple layoffs this year from the marketing and interactive world, and I've decided to explore a long time dream of doing something in the restaurants/bar/gathering space/hospitality arena.

I feel like Atlanta is by no means a saturated market, especially when it comes to a well-executed concept and business plan. That said, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on what ideas/concepts you feel like would do well or may be lacking in the ATL right now.

While I certainly have passions, I am agnostic as to what type of space I'd like to open, but am looking for good ideas and people to partner with, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter as you're out and about a lot.

Any thoughts? I think we can rule out another pizza or burger place, yes? Please! Pasta is everywhere and so are sushi and barbecue. What are we missing?....

I have it on good authority that a certain Japanese restaurant will be adding steamed buns with assorted fillings to its menu. In other words: Japanese sliders. I'll keep you posted....

Valentine's Day is causing restaurants to offer all kinds of specials. But few are as extreme as this one offered by a Toronto restaurant. Start with a French maid then plan to pull a Larry Craig in the restroom.(Warning: adult material.)....

As usual, we hit slider night at the Shed last night. Wayne's mama has now become a fan of the restaurant's weekly $3 treats. Her fave is the fried green tomato with goat cheese. Wayne ordered and loved a newbie that is basically a chili dog on a slider bun. No thank you. I mean, really, no thank you....

I've always liked Nicola's, but, well....

watch this first before you decide to do a restaurant: http://www.fox.com/fod/play.php?sh=nightmares A fine example of people who believe the restaurant business is easy.."a place to hang out" "ill just hire people to do the job for me while i walk around with a glass of wine in my hand"
